Basic Health Units

In the village of Zawa in the immediate vicinity of Tora Bora, where only some months ago heavy fighting was going on, we rebuilt a Basic Health Unit. With the help of two Afghan doctors we are providing medical resources to about 10,000 people of ten neighboring villages.

In the province of Kunar, we are constructing two Basic Health Units in addition to the school buildings. Starting August 2002, two young Afghan doctors will be responsible for medical assistance for about twenty-five villages.
